YARD SALE!

I am having a yard sale at my house this Saturday August 8. I am selling girl clothes size 0 - 5, boys 0- 12 months, bouncer, exersaucer, 2 swings (one almost brand new because little man hated it!), infant car seat and 2 bases, girls shoes 0 - ? (can't remember for sure what I have)some toys, maternity clothes: L, XL (if I can get it priced before then!) and some books. Mostly selling kids clothes. The 12 -15 totes of clothes that have accumulated over the past 5 years need to go to a good home.

So if anyone actually still checks this blog and is interested come check it out. If you need directions email me: amber.lashley@navy.mil

Easter Weekend

Friday night my dad & stepmom came down to visit us. We had dinner w/them Friday night and then they came over on Saturday morning. They brought the kids their Easter baskets and then hid some eggs for them. Once Jeremy got home from work, they headed back home and we went to the Ruritan for an Easter Egg hunt. Both kids did great and Makenna ended up with a whole bucket full! Matthew did really well also, and managed all on his own to pick up quite a few. That afternoon we went home and played outside and started putting the trampoline back up. It wasn't really that warm so I didn't think anything about putting sunscreen on, but I guess I should have. At least for Matthew. His little checks were pretty red that night and I found out Sunday morning that the top of my head got burnt. Saturday night we headed to Vincennes in search of new tennis shoes for Makenna and to get lumber for the basement walls. We didn't find any tennis shoes but Makenna did get some new sandals and Matthew got the cutest pair of Airwalk brown shoes. Ok so who really pays $30-$40 for a 4 year old's tennis shoes? I can't see paying that much, especially since she may get to wear them for 6 months or less. So I am cheap, sue me!

Sunday morning, Makenna got up bright and early and couldn't wait to tear into her Easter Basket. I wasn't about to get Matthew up at 630 to have them both open them together, so she went ahead without him. I should mention he only napped about 45 mintues all day Saturday and didn't go to bed until 9 or so. Makenna loved her HSM 1 DVD and the new nail polish, and flowers for her nails and of course the candy! When Matthew got up he kind of checked his out, but all he really wanted to do was shake the eggs with jelly beans in them.
Then we headed to church, which was so completely packed that I didn't think everyone would fit! After church we went to have lunch with my mom and grandma. Mom had baskets for the kids too, so we went to her house for a little while. We headed home in the hopes of being able to go outside and play, but it was so windy that we only were out long enough to have our own egg hunt. This time Matthew couldn't have cared less this time. Jeremy and Makenna did go mushroom hunting and found 3 while Matthew and I napped.

Can't believe I forgot, Makenna lost another tooth Friday night! She is growing up way to fast for me!

And I am trying to decide which pictures to order of Matthew. We got some taken a few weeks ago and I can't decide. He is just too stinkin cute! Here is the link if you want to take a look.

Question

Two posts, one day, crazy I know. But for the 3 people that probably read this blog, I am thinking about having a yard sale at my house. For those of you that know where I live, is it a good idea? I live off the highway a few miles and a couple of turns. I am not sure if people would find it and don't want to waste my time. But I really need to get rid of about 10 totes of girl clothes (0-size 5) and boy (0-12mo). I tried having one last year at my mom's but did not do very good at all. And I have baby swing, exersaucer, bouncy seat, etc. So what do you think?

Much needed update

What we have been up to the past few weeks. We had Matthew's 1st birthday party and had a good time with family and friends. I was really looking forward to seeing him dive into his cake, but I was disappointed. He made more of a mess with a cupcake on his actual birthday than with a whole cake. Matthew did not like it at first but quickly realized how good the icing was. He never even made it to the cake part. We finally took it away from him because I was afraid he would get a belly ache from all the sugar. He is definitely not use to that! Matthew got lots of great gifts. Thank you everyone! We got him a trike to ride but that we can push him on for now. And finally he got shoes that actually fit is fat little feet!! That was funny to see him try to walk in shoes for the first time. Not bad, a year old and hadn't ever worn real shoes!
We were suppose to get his one year pics taken this past Saturday but he had been running a fever on and off for a few days and you could tell it in his eyes. I was getting ready to call and cancel when the lady called and cancelled on us. She thought she had strep and we didn't want any part of that! We rescheduled for this Sunday, but this morning Matthew seemed like he was getting congested :( Pray he gets better and we can go! We never did figure out what it was, I assume something viral. I thought at first it was his teeth, but it got up to 103 so I knew it was something else too.

This week daycare is closed for spring break, so the kids are at a different babysitters. I wasn't sure how they would do, but they are loving it. Yesterday I went to get them and Makenna had grass stain on her pants and was so excited to tell me about playing in the barn. I am so glad I have found someone to use when daycare closes. I hate trying to figure it out!

And my grandma is back in the hospital. Mom took her to the ER on Tuesday and they determined she had gall stones and would need those and then her gall bladder removed. So they took her by ambulance to Evansville. She had the stones removed yesterday and later today is the surgery. Grandma is 87 and could some prayers for her surgery. Last night Jeremy and I took mom her car since she had rode down in the ambulance w/grandma. What a crazy night. I think I only saw the kids for about an hour and then we left and didn't get home until 10. I know that doesn't sound late, but when you get up at 5 everyday, it is!

If you have noticed the Praying for Stellan button on my blog, I encourage you to click on it and check out Stellan's story. I found this blog a few months ago and have been "stalking" it ever since. I love reading it and looking at the wonderful pictures she takes. Stellan has been a very sick little boy the past few weeks, but got some better news today. It is amazing to see all the people that have rallied around this family and all they have done for them. Their story was even on the news! Go now, check it out. And Stellan can still use all the prayers he can get!

Happy 1st Birthday Matthew!

Today is my sweet baby boy's first birthday! I can not believe how fast this year went. He is such a sweet loving little boy and brings a smile to our faces everyday. We go tomorrow for his one year check up so I will have to update then with weight and height. But here is what he has been up to lately. He said ball for the first time monday night, he is getting his top two teeth, and hates to be outside. I am hopefull that will change soon. Matthew does good if someone is holding him or in a swing/stroller but to be down and walking around he is not too sure about.

Happy First Birthday Matthew!

Visit from the tooth fairy

Last night as I was brushing Makenna's teeth, she told me I hurt her loose tooth. So I stopped and checked it out. One touch and it was out of there! I had to make sure to keep her still until I got it out so she wouldn't swallow it. She was so excited!!! She started running around and yelling like crazy. So we put it on her nightstand and she went to bed anxiously awaiting a visit from the tooth fairy. I figured if we put it under her pillow she would play with it and hard telling where it would it up, and the tooth fairy wants to keep it! Makenna got up at 3 this morning running in our room showing off the dollar she got and telling us the tooth fairy had been there. It was a little hard to show my excitement at that time of the morning! I took her picture last night with her new hole in her mouth and then this morning with her money. She had to run in daycare this morning and show nanny. And she gets to color a special tooth picture today and they keep them and hang them on the wall for everyone's 1st tooth. There is another one loose too, right next to this one!

What a Day!

Today one of my friends & co-worker had her baby! Leigha Paige was born this morning and weighed 4lbs 13 oz and was 18 inches. She was 3 weeks early, but doing very good. Please keep her in your prayers so she can grow and get bigger and get to go home! It was such a huge sigh of relief to get her here and healthy. They have been on bedrest since December and thru a lot in the past couple of years, I am so glad Leigha is here and healthy.

And I made my last student loan payment today!!!!!!!!! WooooooooooHooooooooooooooo!!!!! Can you tell I am VERY excited by this!!!

Also my Grandma is in the hospital. Mom took her on Saturday and they determined she has had a mini stroke, and probably others before that went unnoticed. She is being moved to a Nursing Home today. It seems to have affected her memory and not her arms or legs. Keep her in your prayers that she recovers and doesn't have any more.
