What we have been up to the past few weeks. We had Matthew's 1st birthday party and had a good time with family and friends. I was really looking forward to seeing him dive into his cake, but I was disappointed. He made more of a mess with a cupcake on his actual birthday than with a whole cake. Matthew did not like it at first but quickly realized how good the icing was. He never even made it to the cake part. We finally took it away from him because I was afraid he would get a belly ache from all the sugar. He is
definitely not use to that! Matthew got lots of great gifts. Thank you everyone! We got him a trike to ride but that we can push him on for now. And finally he got shoes that actually fit is fat little feet!! That was funny to see him try to walk in shoes for the first time. Not bad, a year old and hadn't ever worn real shoes!
We were suppose to get his one year pics taken this past
Saturday but he had been running a fever on and off for a few days and you could tell it in his eyes. I was getting ready to call and cancel when the lady called and cancelled on us. She thought she had strep and we didn't want any part of that! We
rescheduled for this Sunday, but this morning Matthew seemed like he was getting congested :( Pray he gets better and we can go! We never did figure out what it was, I assume something viral. I thought at first it was his teeth, but it got up to 103 so I knew it was something else too.
This week daycare is closed for spring break, so the kids are at a different babysitters. I wasn't sure how they would do, but they are loving it. Yesterday I went to get them and
Makenna had grass stain on her pants and was so excited to tell me about playing in the barn. I am so glad I have found someone to use when daycare closes. I hate trying to figure it out!
And my grandma is back in the hospital. Mom took her to the ER on Tuesday and they determined she had gall stones and would need those and then her gall bladder removed. So they took her by ambulance to Evansville. She had the stones removed yesterday and later today is the surgery. Grandma is 87 and could some prayers for her surgery. Last night Jeremy and I took mom her car since she had rode down in the ambulance w/grandma. What a crazy night. I think I only saw the kids for about an hour and then we left and didn't get home until 10. I know that doesn't sound late, but when you get up at 5 everyday, it is!
If you have noticed the Praying for
Stellan button on my blog, I encourage you to click on it and check out
Stellan's story. I found this blog a few months ago and have been "stalking" it ever since. I love reading it and looking at the wonderful pictures she takes.
Stellan has been a very sick little boy the past few weeks, but got some better news today. It is amazing to see all the people that have rallied around this family and all they have done for them. Their story was even on the news! Go now, check it out. And
Stellan can still use all the prayers he can get!
